April Ross

April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join the team in Tokyo. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. This may be the last chance she'll ever have at age 39. However, she's convinced that top prizes are in reach. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your top, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. In addition, I'm planning to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she played basketball, indoor volleyball and running track. She stood out however during this game. When she played in her high school volleyball career, according to her college profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. For her efforts, she was honored as an 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she received the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former was already a big-time participant on the beaches even before the pair formed. It's true that she has been able to win multiple events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. For six years from 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who took home the title of world champion alongside Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the world stage. The duo would go into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. Together, they won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross balled out with the Trojans of USC as an collegiate. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. She was a All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year when she was a teen freshman. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. She endured a great personal defeat in her sophomore year however, she was able to achieve the All-American award. In her last two years, she took the Trojans up the mountain and took home consecutive national championships. She had established herself as an all-time legend winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross did not get to watch her daughter's rise to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. As a result, Ross is still near to her mother who passed away. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her, both at and off the beaches.
