Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modelling career in Italy. In 1996 she debuted as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. She struggled to get an appearance for her in Starship Troopers. Amy struggled to make the shift to acting as models were not considered as skilled actors and usually got small parts. Amy did not give up. She worked her way up to bigger roles. She began in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. After a while Amy stepped to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the 2005 love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. The film became a massive commercial success, and Amy has finally achieved the recognition that she was striving for for over a decade. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she was a well loved recurring character.
