Pleshette was one of the graduates of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater and was a student of Sanford Meisner. She began her career as a stage actor , with more than 100 credits. From 1972 until 1978, her most famous character was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart show. In 1989, Pleshette was the lead character Christine Broderick in the series Nightingales. She was Jackie Hansen in the television show The Boys Are Back from 1994 to 1995. Pleshette was a regular in the show. Suzanne Pleshette is Maggie Briggs, Good Morning, Miami, 8 Simple Rules, Will & Grace. She was also part of The Geisha Boy and The Birds. She was nominated for an Annie Award for her singing in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. Pleshette received two Golden Globe Awards nominations.
